Sizing the Generator To Your Needs
Essential Circuit Coverage

Many homeowners choose to cover only the bare essential circuits during an outage. The generator will be sized to precisely cover appliances, lighting, heating and/ or air conditioning circuits. This system is fully automatic and the generator is powered by either natural gas or liquid propane. An automatic transfer switch enclosure with either a 10, 12, 14, or 16 circuit panel is installed beside the main breaker panel and the essential circuits are rewired to the automatic transfer switch panel. This is the most economical solution that keeps basic circuits covered during an emergency.

Managed Whole-House Coverage

Power your entire house (every circuit) with the Nexus Smart Switch. What makes it a smart switch? The smart switch is an automatic transfer switch that’s service-rated for whole-house coverage and contains technology known as load-shedding. The smart switch comes with (2) Digital Power Management (DPM) modules and has the capability to load-shed up to (4) additional high wattage loads. Normally, these DPM’s are connected to your A/C condensers because they are normally your homes largest electrical loads. The smart switch recognizes how much power your generator is producing and automatically shuts down your A/C loads before overloading the generator. The 20 kW generator paired with the Nexus smart switch is our most popular installation.

Complete Whole-House Coverage

Generac has a full line of back up power solutions including larger sized generators that can power every circuit in larger-sized homes without the need for load-shedding. Never wait for an appliance to takes it turn to be used. Never be without your A/C system. With a whole-house coverage you will always have everything in your home available to you. Whole house coverage means when the power goes out, everything stays on for complete whole-house coverage.
